3/23/09 - A Very Good Day!

Hey guys... I hope everyone is doing well! BJ is doing better today after a very good visit to UAB. He finally got the news he has been waiting on regarding the Cyclosporine! They have taken him off of that medication. This is a really good sign as to how the doctors feel about his progress and his body's acceptance of the transfusion. Also, almost just as as important to BJ, he doesn't have to go back to UAB for a month if everything continues to go well. He will have to go to the doctor in Tuscaloosa to have blood work done and monitor his body's response to being off of the Cyclosporine, but if everything remains good, he will get a month break! He was really excited about that possibility.

If everything does remain positive, his next visit to UAB will be geared toward ready for his 1 year post transplant date of May 15th! We talked the other night about how fast this last 10 months has gone. He said that the first two months post transplant felt like two years. I know those were some really long days for BJ, his family, and Ashley. But since then, he felt like everything has gone by really quickly. Hopefully, BJ will continue to get great news over the next few weeks and he can get ready to have a BIG May 15th! Everybody pray for continued positive results & feel free to leave him a comment. I know it would be appreciated! Talk to you soon!
