Hey everybody..... Sorry to be so long between posts. Fortunately, since BJ only has to go to UAB every two weeks, there has not been much to tell you. As Ashley mentioned in her comment, everything is going pretty smoothly for BJ and he is feeling good.

He went to UAB yesterday for his check-up. He said it was looking like it was going to be a quick trip and he might be out of there by 9:30 because results were coming back positive. Then he found out his white blood cell count was low and his day went from a quick trip to really long. The doctors were a little concerned by this count so they did a bone marrow test to make sure the leukemia cells had not returned. BJ had also been experiencing some tingling in his legs, so the doctors did a lumbar puncture to test the fluid around his spinal cord. BJ said this was about as comfortable as it sounds, so between that and the bone marrow test, he was pretty sore yesterday. The good news is that all the test came back negative, which according to BJ made the pain a little more tolerable. He doesn't have to go back to UAB for another two weeks, so the doctors obviously feel pretty comfortable with his progress and the results of yesterday's tests.

As I have been saying, I will update you if anything happens between now and BJ's next visit to UAB. Otherwise, it may be another couple of weeks before I post again. Obviously, "no news" is "good news" in this case, so hopefully BJ will continue to feel good and the visits to UAB will continue to be positive. Talk to you soon!

Hey everybody....I hope everyone had a nice long weekend. BJ went back to UAB today for another follow-up and it went great! All of the results from the test came back negative and there are still no leukemia cells! Obviously, BJ was really excited about today's news. He will find out tomorrow how soon he has to go back to the unit for his next follow-up, but he feels like it will be in two weeks. I hope to have a few more details tomorrow, but until then I wanted to pass along what I knew. Talk to you soon!
