I wanted to give everyone a brief update. After last week's visit to UAB they told BJ that all of the tests they could do there looked good and they would call him if any of the other results did not come back as positive. So, unless he heard from them, he did not have to come back until Sept. 2. He still hasn't heard anything and is taking "no news" as really positive news. There is not much else new to tell you until next week. I will update you if anything new comes up between now and then. If not, I will talk to you next Tuesday! Keep praying for continued positive news.

Hey everyone......We had a GREAT day at the golf course today!! The weather cooperated (somewhat) and held off with any serious rain until after the tournament was over. We were able to raise a lot of money for BJ's foundation and have a good time with a lot of good friends. I would like to really thank all of the people that donated money, door prizes, or volunteered to help. I would also like to thank the members of Castle Pines and Mr. Barber for letting us have the tournament on a Saturday, which is a little out of the norm for an event like this. I think we were able to give away some pretty good prizes and from everybody I've talked to, everyone had a pretty enjoyable day of golf.

I hope everyone at the course was able to see the tremendous progress BJ has made over the last couple months. It is truly remarkable how well he is doing and how well his body has responded to his treatment.

Eric & I would really like to make this an annual event to raise money for BJ's foundation. We are looking forward to another bigger, better tournament next year. I will update everyone after BJ's next visit to the unit. Until then, have a good week and Thanks Again!!!

Hey everyone....I wanted to update you all about BJ's visit today. It was another good trip to UAB. He did have the bone marrow test again, but he said he was not as sore afterwards as he has been the last couple of times. The doctors don't have all of the results back from his tests, but the results the doctors were able to get today were all good. BJ sounded pretty excited about the visit. Of course, he is still anxious about the other results, but the positive results he got today were great.

BJ is looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend at the golf tournament. If anyone is planning on playing but has not sent in your registration form, please give Eric or me a call and we will save you a spot.

I will be updating the site as soon as BJ gets the results from his other tests. Hopefully, it will be more positive news. Everything has been going so well so far, so lets pray it continues. I will talk to you soon!

Hey, hope everyone is doing well...I have been posting on Tuesday's because that is when BJ usually goes to UAB for his weekly visit. However, this week his visit has been pushed back until Friday. BJ has a follow up appointment with the ENT doctor scheduled for this Friday, so the doctors in the BMT unit pushed his weekly appointment back to the same day to save him an extra trip.

That will start a busy couple of days for him. He will be back in Birmingham for a very big visit to UAB on Monday, because they will be doing another bone marrow test. As I have said many times before, this test is pretty painful, but it will provide some very important information. I hope everyone will keep BJ and his family in your thoughts going into this, because I am sure everyone will be anxious to get the results.

The baseball team reports back to Tuscaloosa for meetings Tuesday, August 19th (a week from today) and start classes the the next day. Then, August 23rd is the golf tournament, so BJ has a lot going on the next week or so.

BJ is doing really well. I have talked with him pretty regularly lately and he has always sounded extremely positive and been in a good mood. He is really enjoying being back in Tuscaloosa and going back to the office. I know he is looking forward to seeing all of the guys next week.

I will update you with anything new as soon as I hear it. Until then keep praying for positive news!

Hi everyone....I spoke to BJ this evening to see how his visit to UAB went today. Fortunately, it was kind of boring with no real new information. As BJ said, "Right now, boring is good." He did not have to stay as long today as he did last week. All of his counts remained about the same as did the doctors comments. They were extremely happy with all of today's results.
Not much else has changed since my post last week. BJ has continued to go into the office each day and do things as normally as possible.

We have had really good response for the golf tournament. The last day to get hole sponsor forms in will be this Friday. There are still some spots available for teams, so if you want to put a team in the tournament please send in a form.

I will update the site if I get any new information between now and BJ's next visit. Until then please continue to keep him in your prayers. He is doing great, so the prayers have been working and we need to keep them coming.
