Hey everyone....BJ went back to UAB today. Everything looked good and the doctors were pleased with his progress. He doesn't have to go back until next week. His counts continued to remain about the same and he did receive some more magnesium. The rash from the GVHD is still hanging around. It hasn't gotten any worse, but hasn't completely gone away, so the doctors prescribed a little stronger steroid cream that should take care of it.
Over the last couple of days BJ has been feeling pretty good. I haven't posted because there really hasn't been any new news. He has been following the doctors orders by staying inside, walking on the treadmill, and trying not to do anything to jeopardize his progress. His appetite continues to improve, so he is continuing to expand the menu of what he can eat. He is not getting sick nearly as often anymore, which is great news.
The family did get some disappointing news today. As I mentioed last week, Mrs. Green has been staying at the lake with walking pneumonia. Unfortunately, the antibiotics were not helping and she was not getting any better, so she went back to the doctor today. She now has full blown pneumonia an has been admitted to Carraway hospital. Not only can she (obviously) not be around BJ, but anyone who has been in contact with her can't be around BJ. This means Mr. Green can't go see her in the hospital. He told me they had a system worked out so there is a group of people that would be with her. So, everyone really keep the family in your prayers.
Hopefully, Mrs. Green will recover quickly and BJ will continue his tremendous progress. I went to see him Tuesday night and he really looks great! Thanks to all those that continue to leave comments on the site. They really mean a lot to him. Talk to you soon.

BJ,
I am thrilled to read all of the good news as you continue to recover and gain your strength. I have been out of town this week and just now am catching up on this week's progress. We have some friends whose 2 year old little girl was diagnosed last week with ALL. I am passing on your story and blog to them for encouragement. You are such an inspiration to me and I think your story will inspire them as they begin their battle with Leukemia. I hope your Mom will begin to feel better. I know it's hard on all of you not having her there and I know she misses you. Please tell her we are praying for a quick recovery. Enjoy your weekend.

Hey B.J. We're so glad to hear that you are continuing to do so well. Just know that we haven't stopped praying. You continue to amaze us with your strength and determination. I've been keeping up with your mom through my Aunt Donna. I think she spent some time with her at the hospital today and has been keeping me posted on her recovery. Let her know we are thinking about and praying for her as well. Just hang in there, it's getting better day by day. Thoughts & Prayers!!Cheryl Everett
